"Why are you late again?" the boss asked him.
轉換后：The boss asked him why he was late again.

轉換后：She said that she would call me the next day.
"We saw the movie last night," they told me.
轉換后：They told me that they had seen the movie the previous night.
"Im reading a book now," she said to me.
轉換后：She told me that she was reading a book then.
"Can you help me with this problem?" he asked his friend.
轉換后：He asked his friend if/whether he could help him with that problem.
注意：
直接引語中的第一人稱（I, me, my等）在轉換為間接引語時，通常變為相應的第二人稱（you, your等），但如果是對聽話人轉述時，則可能保持不變或根據語境變化。
時態上，如果直接引語是一般現在時或一般將來時，在間接引語中常變為一般過去時或過去將來時。
時間狀語和指示代詞也需要相應地進行調整，如“now”變為“then”，“here”可能變為“there”等。
疑問句和祈使句轉換為間接引語時，其句型和結構也會有所變化。
