There was once a farmer who had a fine olive(橄欖樹) orchard(果園) . He was very hardworking, and the farm always prospered under his care. But he knew that his three sons despised(輕視,看不起) the farm work, and were eager to make wealth, trough adventure.
When the farmer was old, and felt that his time had come to die, he called the three sons to him and said,
The sons tried to get him to tell them in what part of the orchard the gold was hidden; but he would tell them nothing more.
After the farmer was dead, the sons went to work to find the pot of gold; since they did not know where the hiding-place was, they agreed to begin in a line, at one end of the orchard, and to dig until one of them should find the money. They dug until they had turned up the soil from one end of the orchard to the other, round the tree-roots and between them. But no pot of gold was to be found. It seemed as if someone must have stolen it, or as if the farmer had been wandering(漫游,閑逛)in his wits. The three sons were bitterly disappointed to have all their work for nothing.
The next olive season, the olive trees in the orchard bore more fruit than they had ever given; when it was sold, it gave the sons a whole pot of gold.
And when they saw how much money had come from the orchard, they suddenly understood what the wise father had meant when he said,
gold hidden in the orchard. Dig for it, if you wish it.

The young man thought about his death. But his friends the ants came and helped him pass the test. The witch was astounded. Then she took him to a room where there were thirteen maidens with their faces covered: the shoemaker had to discover which one was the princess.

Shen Wenbao lived near the great lake Taihu. He was very kind. His whole family was gentle and kind. They released trapped animals whenever they could.
"Have you released those birds I bought from the hunters this noon?" Shen asked his wife.
"Yes, Ive let them all go," she answered.
"Thats wonderful," Shen said. "Now they are free to fly wherever they please. They can fly in the sky or rest on a branch in the forest." Just thinking about it made Shen so happy that he beamed.
Most of the people in the area trapped and fished. Only the Shens were different. When their neighbors, caught some animals, the Shens always bought as many as they could and released them. Their neighbors thought for sure that the Shens were out of their minds. "Why waste good money on a bunch of birds? What good can it possibly do?"
"Theyre just simple minded, thats all." This is what most of the neighbors said.
But one night, when everybody had gone to sleep except Old Man Li, who had insomnia, he heard voices in the street. When he looked out, he was so scared he fell over.
In the street, he saw two demons bringing an epidemic. Now, of course, we say germs bring epidemics. Maybe a germ is one kind of a demon. At any rate, germs are frightening to think about, and these demons Old Man Li saw sure were frightening to look at! In their hands, they carried dozens of little flags.
One of the demons said, "One flag for each house, right?"
"Thats right," said the other demon, "But not that house there. Thats the Shens house. They have released lots and lots of captured animals, so we cant do anything to them."
Within days, a terrible epidemic swept through the Taihu district. In less than a week, over half of the people there were dead.
But the odd thing was that nobody in the Shen family got even a bit sick. His neighbors then knew that a good heart can earn good rewards. Shen Wenbao lived to a ripe old age and died peacefully, without any suffering.

Instead of saying "I dont have time" try saying "its not a priority" and see how that feels. Often thats a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just dont want to. But other things are harder. Try it:
"Im not going to edit your resume, sweetie, because its not a priority."
Vanbs.com
"I dont go to the doctor because my health is not a priority."
Vanbs.com
If these phrases dont sit well, thats the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we dont like how were spending an hour, we can choose differently.
A woman baked chapatti for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chapatti on the window sill. Every day, a hunchback came and took away the chapatti. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way: “The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”
The woman felt irritated. “Not a word of gratitude,” she said to herself… “Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?” One day, she decided to do away with him. She added poison to the chapatti she prepared for him!
As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. “What is this I am doing?” she said. Immediately, she threw the chapatti into the fire, prepared another one. As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and muttered the words: “The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”
Every day, as the woman placed the chapatti on the window sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune.
That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He was hungry and weak. As he saw his mother, he said, “Mom, it’s a miracle I’m here. While I was but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by. He was kind enough to give me a whole chapatti. He said, “Your need is greater than mine!”
She remembered the poisoned chapatti that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son!
It was then that she realized the significance of the words: “The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!” Do good and don’t ever stop doing good, even if it is not appreciated at that time.

I recently started a new job, in a small office, where four of us share a fridge. In that fridge is a Brita water filter pitcher. One of my coworkers complained the water tasted "dirty". It went on for a few days, and she was stunned I could drink the water without any trouble. I started to doubt my taste buds, but the water really tasted fine.
Finally, she figured out the problem was actually her cup. She simply forgot to clean it, and after awhile started to affect the water inside it. She cleaned her cup, and drank the water with no problem.
I cant help but think about the world we live in. Too often we quickly blame other people, other things, anything else but ourselves. "Youre racist". "Youre intolerant". "Youre the problem". The world isnt perfect, I know, but I think we should take a step back sometimes and ask ourselves some tough questions.
Can I be better? Is my heart really pure? Can I help this situation with kindness?
I want to tell you this; please clean your cup. Because when you do, the water will taste much better. I promise you this.

The Blacksmith And Dog
Those who will not work deserve to starve.
A Blacksmith had a little Dog, which used to sleep when his master was at work, but was very wide awake indeed when it was time for meals.
One day his master pretended to be disgusted at this, and then he had thrown him a bone as usual, he said, “What on earth is the good of a lazy cur like you?”
When I am hammering away at my anvil, you just curl up and go to sleep: but no sooner do I stop for a mouthful of food than you wake up and wag your tail to be fed.
THRIFT
There is not a (no) thrifty man but becomes a rich man sooner or later. Why? Because he will not spend such money as is unnecessary. Little by little his money will accumulate. Ten to one, he is bound to make a fortune.
I do not like such men as spend their money in a wrong way. They do not know extravagance is a bad thing. It can only make them happy for the time being. In short, thrift makes poor men rich and extravagance makes rich men poor.
